From the grief series this piece contains colors, lines, and shapes that a dear friend of mine would have found playfully appealing. She was in her early 20's, a powerful light, and loving presence when she passed. My friends and I imagine she's on the moon somewhere, maybe an alien in a spaceship exploring a great, wide universe. Mija is what I called her, a Spanish term of endearment for "my child".
Welcome. I am Jess D, a Florida native and a multimedia artist. The Dreamer's Outlet emerged organically from a passion project. As a former crisis advocate, I facilitated art therapy support groups for folx wanting to address and heal their trauma, through lines, light, color, language, and sound. Practicing the skills shared and learned in these group collaborations, I found my own healing.
